At their subsequent meeting she explains that she is "tired of waiting for the old fart to die" (Mr. O'Toole is eighty.) She wants her husband killed and will pay Wiley $100, 000 to do the job. Wiley agrees to the "contract". Two days later, while Trixie is away at a party establishing her alibi, Wiley breaks into the O'Toole house and pumps several bullets into Mr. O'Toole as he is lying in bed. Wiley then tries to make the scene look like a botched burglary. The police however apprehend Wiley. However, it turns out that Mr. O'Toole was already dead when Wiley shot him. Mr. O'Toole succumbed to a massive coronary about three hours before Wiley broke in. Wiley is nevertheless charged with Attempted Aggravated Murder.
