. Write your solutions on a clean sheet of paper. Include all the necessary work to justify your answers and to incur full points. . Draw a lever diagram. Identify the chosen pivot or axis of rotation. . Define the variables to be used. . Write appropriate and complete mathematical procedures. Problem 1 A 7.5-kg non-uniform board is raised above the ground using a column support and a cable fixed on a wall. The column is placed one meter from the left end of the Im board, and it exerts an upward force of 56N. (a) What is the tension in the cable? (b) Where is the board's center of gravity with respect to its leftmost end? Problem 2 A uniform ladder 10.0 m long and weighing 52.0 N rests against a smooth vertical wall. If the coefficient of static I friction between the ladder and the ground is 0.360 and the ladder makes a 60.0' angle with respect to the horizontal, is it safe for a 65-kg painter to climb it 6m and 7m along its length? Justify your answers. (The 6- and 7- m distances are measured from the foot of the ladder.)
