With the closure of all Australian automotive vehicle manufacturing, companies such as Toyota, General Motors (Holden) and Ford shifted from foreign manufacturing subsidiaries to exporting (although the firms did retain subsidiaries in Australia, for purposes such as R&D). Holden has already ceased its exporting strategy, shutting down permanently. Do you think that the other former manufacturers, Ford and Toyota, will be successful with their current exporting strategies?
