With the input of your site supervisor, observe and interview two student affairs professionals whose responsibilities include engaging students. After observing these student affairs professionals in their roles, interview them about their responsibilities in creating community. Address the following questions in your interviews:

• What is your role in creating community? What methods have you found to be most and least effective in engaging students?
• How have you engaged diverse populations on your campus?
• How has service and community affected student engagement in your experience?
• What strategies have helped student leaders and staff to take ownership in engaging students on your campus?

Following your interviews and observations, summary and reflection, addressing the following:

• The positions and responsibilities of the two student affairs professionals
• What was observed during the field experience
• The interviews, including methods  and strategies for engaging diverse populations in creating community
• How you will apply  what you learned to future practice as a student affairs professional
