Within a company the purchasing dept is pressured to reduce costs for materials purchased. As the purchasing dept reduces costs there is a correlation in reduced quality of the product(s) purchased. Manufacturing is held accountable for scrap and rework yet these failures are due to another dept. How can this be rectified?
