Within this writer's scope of practice, a qualitative approach can be taken with individuals who have been addicted to opioids for more than 10 years. Anecdotally, many individuals have reported different feelings from the "dope" that is sold today. The majority of the supply today is fentanyl. In the past it was heroin. Research can be done on addict knowledge about the current drug supply, and in-depth interviews could be used to help create mitigation efforts
