"Women represented56.2% of enrolments in2016/2017and continued to outnumber men in most fields of study. Education, and health and related fields represented the two fields of study with the highest proportion of women in2016/2017. Women accounted for77.0% of enrolments in education and74.1%, in health and related fields. In contrast, men accounted for the majority of enrolments in architecture, engineering and related technologies (79.5%) and mathematics, computer and information sciences (73.0%)" (Statistics Canada, 2019, para. 10).
