Familiarize yourself with all parts and types of Codes of Conduct, and reflect on what makes the most sense to include in a Code of Conduct for the University of the People faculty and staff.
Your Code of Conduct should include a section that explicitly addresses the organizations sustainability perspective and policy. Further, each team member should intentionally and explicitly incorporate language that clarifies how sustainability issues (interpreted broadly) apply and interact with their assigned element of the Code of Conduct group project. Finally, the Code of Conduct should include a definition of sustainability as it applies to the organization.
Based on your preliminary readings, as well as your own ideas and experiences, engage in discussion with the other members, about the components of the Code of Conduct that you will create together. Talk over the things you think should be included, negotiate things that you think can be left out of it. Back up your decisions with research and precedent. In these discussions, your group should be identifying patterns of similarities and agreement, as well as outliers. Individually you may have to convince others in your group that an element should be included if others don't immediately agree. That's part of the process.
