Working just to make money doesn't give many a real purpose or motivation to do well, there are more incentives when you are investing in yourself and coworkers. In a capitalistic system you have to request time off, and it can be denied. You can't just not show up, three strikes and you're out of a job. In a more democratic system workers might have more control over their time and this could lead to a greater sense of freedom. Many of those "millions that come to America" do it to provide for their families back home
