This tool outlines the processes involved in critical reflection. You will use this tool to expand your in-depth knowledge of one area of practice. To undertake this task, you must:

  • Show honest self-assessment highlighting areas for improvement
  • Implementation strategies to assist you to improve in these areas

A Reflection of Practice

At the start of your work experience, or if employed as part of your role, speak with your supervisor and identify one (1) area of your pedagogical practice (study of teaching) you would like to improve. Use the critical reflection tool below to identify strategies you will implement to improve this area of practice.

You must expand your knowledge by using National Quality Framework documents which outline best practice.

Use the questions on the left to guide your critical reflection.

Discuss with your supervisor areas of daily practice which can be explored and implement one strategy. Reflect on how this can be collected by the centre and used for their Quality Improvement Plan.
