Its products and services directly affect the activity of the globe. The industry provides energy and raw material for economic sustainability. The outcome of the industry's activities has a direct impact on the environmental and social sustainability of the community. The companies should focus on product quality, risk management, community development and stakeholder engagement in order to ensure sustainability. Sustainability reports are made to inform the relevant authorities and community on the progress and plans of the company in relation to its operations. These reports also include an environmental impact assessment of their operations. This paper will include an analysis of the strategies that oil and gas companies in the UAE employ in ensuring that there operations meet all the aspects of sustainability. The aspects are going to be about environmental impact, social impact and business impact. Discussion The United Arabs Emirates is one of the largest oil and gas production regions in the world. The oil companies in the region do both offshore and onshore drilling. The companies here ensures that fair business environment operate for all of them. The oil and gas prices are equal and no company is exploited (Marcel, & Mitchell, 2005). Operating under Islamic laws ensures that even the prices set for the oil are fair and the region plays a big role in determining 3 global oil prices. Many economic and tourist regions like Dubai and Qatar have developed because of the business activities of the oil companies in the region. The companies operating on a fair business policy ensure that an equal market is available to ensure for sustainability. Communities living in the area have benefited from operations of the companies, which have built on infrastructure development, health and safety and education (Weiss, 2009). Medical and educational centers for the communities living and working in the area have been brought up. The frameworks developed by the companies ensure that as they develop, the communities around including inhabitants also develop. Employment opportunities are offered to the people, social amenities like small businesses are developed and the economic value of the people is increased. The companies also ensure that Community Social Responsibility programs through education and sports sponsorships are facilitated. Environmental impact is one of the key issues addressed by the industry. The steps taken to ensure a reduction in industrial emissions in order to achieve the policies and targets set by the Global Environmental Forum on greenhouse gases (Marcel, & Mitchell, 2005). The offshore mining companies put in place frameworks to ensure that there is least interference of the marine life. It is done by ensuring that no oil spills happen, safe disposal of oil byproducts and that all offshore activities to not alter marine life in any way. Strict laws are set up to ensure that in case of a breach of the guidelines, heavy financial penalties and prosecution of individuals takes place. Conclusion To conclude, oil and gas companies in United Arab Emirates ensure that their operations positively affect the community in relevant aspects, educational, health and economic. Environmental protection is also a way of the oil industry ensuring that Environmental Impact 4 Assessment policies are ensured. Involvement of stakeholders from both the companies and local authority ensures that a sustainable project framework is devised.
