Wow, I use probability a LOT in my life. I didn't realize it until I stopped to think.

For my personal life, I love doing high adrenaline things. It's kind of in my nature. One that some would deem risky is riding sport bikes (motorcycles). 150+ HP between your legs, and one miscalculation and it is all over. For that, I use probability to make the best possible decision utilizing lane position, lean angle, throttle application, and brake pressure to try and get the desired outcome.

For this example: I use throttle position because I believe it is generally the easiest to quantify. Given you desire a certain speed, a certain percentage of throttle (0-100%) would be applied. If you over apply the throttle for a given situation, even at higher speeds, the front tire will lift off the ground resulting in a "power wheelie". Real world application: I am cruising on a flat level surface at 50mph in first gear. If I rapidly apply 70% throttle, the front tire will lift off the ground, so I apply about 69.9% throttle and feel out the bike and see what it wants to do. If I determine I can feed it more throttle, I will until I sense the bike is starting to float the front tire and I back off slightly.

Another instance from my work life would be: When I am calling an organization that is notoriously busy, and only has 3 phones with 3 operators. When I call that commercial number, there is a 33.33% chance that I will talk to John, and a 66.66% chance I will talk to either Adam or Will.

Of course, I rarely ever visualize these things in the numerical or statistical sense, however stepping back I can see how much I do it subconsciously.
