Write a 5-10 page paper creating a metric to measure countries, based on our discussions in class and justified by the material in Recharting the History of Economic Thought and What Would the Great Economists Do? You have a lot of flexibility in what measures you choose, but I expect you to explain why you chose certain measures and why they are relevant. Here is a general outline for the paper.

1. Introduction of your metric, its interpretation, and its component parts

2. Discussion of why each element was included, relating to material we have discussed in class.

3. Discuss data used for your calculations, and provide a small table that contains the data for countries you will use.

4. Compute your metric for your chosen countries, and discuss their relative ranks to each other. Why is one country ranked above/below another? What are pros/cons of this?

5. Conclude by summarizing you metric, and discuss what you have learned in this class/how much you like me (kidding on the last part)
