Ethical Dilemma 1

Ethical dilemma 2

The raft is designed for a 500 # weight limit, and only has enough water for 2 people for 4 days, 3 people for 3 days, or 4 people for 2 days. The sea is calm at the moment. You are in charge and others have agreed to abide your decisions. What do you do?

Person 1 YOU

Person 2 and 3. Husband and wife in their late 40s. 3 children, 6 grandchildren. She has breast cancer and weights 250 #, he is healthy and weights 200 #.

Ethical dilemma (real!)

You are a project manager running 2 separate projects. Project A has been approved for $50,000 and is a high priority (safety and security), project B has been approved for $100,000 but is a low priority.

Project A is running behind schedule and over budget. Project B looks like it can be completed under budget, but you havent spent much time yet on it, so you aren't sure.

The Engineering Manager is all over you to get Project A completed on time and under budget. He says do whatever it takes. He suggests moving some costs to project B or saving money on project A by cutting some safety features.

The Accounting Manager is also watching your spending and warning you to make sure you do not move any costs around between the 2 projects. He might not be able to catch it if you do discreetly.

The Safety Manager has approved the project, and when you approached him about cutting some safety features from project A he said absolutely not.

The Plant Manager is a very ethical person but expects his subordinates to get the jobs done as committed to when the project is submitted for approval.

What will you do?
