I found the evolution of international deals interesting in this chapter; specifically, how European deal volume was less effected by internal economic factors than Asian deal volume. We saw that Asian deal volume showed tremendous growth in the fifth merger wave, but it still significantly lower than deal volumes of the United States and Europe. We saw that it was caused largely due to deregulation of countries like China, Japan, and Korea while also seeing booming growth in the economies of China and India. Even though there was a time where European economies had a slow decline, it seemed to have bounced back by 2018. Do we think European economies has a less negative impact on deal volume due to being an overall more established economic than Asia, or are there other factors?
