Ever since the pandemic we have had self checkout instead of having an actual cashier help customers with their purchase. This has led to an increase in theft and also makes checkout less efficient because there are too many problems with the current system. I am choosing to talk about the business process reengineering, because self checkout at my job is not efficient and needs either more automation or be reverted back to regular checkout. In order to improve this process data would need to be collected such as transaction times, errors, and any usage patterns. This would allow any flaws to be streamlined and give a much better experience to customers. In the data gathering and improvement processes many people will be involved, specifically cashiers as they can watch what happens when customers are checking out. Managers will also be involved as cashiers would likely report any data they collect
