write a summary on the given paragraph
Applied health fitness psychology forms incredible supports in the process of explaining the meaning and the role of worldviews in the designated fields. Literal information obtained from the video and the speculated article show that every human being has his or her own set of worldview. The concept of worldview covers a wide range of spectrum including for instance the manner people focus matters pertaining religion, economics, sociology, psychology, psychiatry, biology, ethics amongst other entities, (Melnyk, 2013). A worldview is not an identity interpreted by an elementary set of values; however, it is a broad range of credentials necessary in explaining the manner in which people observe or rather see things in their environments. Something that is worth noting however is that there is no right or wrong when it comes to the concept of the worldview (Naugle,n.d).
Human health behavior is compounded by various different factors. It is due to this fact that the sense of worldviews seems to play a crucial part in declaring what should be considered for a proper human health. To begin with, diet will be one of the common relevant considerations under this example. What people should eat is an essential disclosure of the kind of health the individuals would be having. Sigmund Freud shows that the aspect of believing in an idea is a factor construed by the intellectual construction of an individual.
According to my worldview, the extent at which people exercise contributes to the course in which their health improves. However, exercises should be regulated depending on the type of occupation and health condition of the individual. On the other hand, lack of exercise can contribute to differently sustaining health crisis. Basing my argument on worldview, different people will have different fitness psychology concerns.
I would argue that health is very pivotal for a proper existence of human lives. Despite the contribution of other credentials, the type of meals an individual takes should not be subjected to the sense of human worldviews. The reason behind my thinking is because some of the people’s worldviews have their basis on aspects such as culture, which denies particular ethnic populations from taking particular meals. Under these concepts, worldviews might trigger unfriendly health behaviors and thus posing the individual in danger. Stress causing factors will consequently be activated by these attempts.
Being an exercise science major strains the subject of exercising daily. When I first changed my major to exercise science the most common question that I got was “How are you an exercise science major and you don’t exercise?” Each one of the classes I’ve taken in the exercise science program stressed the topic of exercising and being healthy whether it is having the mindset or being in shape. One of my professors wouldn’t let us eat in class unless it was a fruit and I thank her for that because it motivated me to buy healthier foods since I bring my food to class. My worldview influences my stress levels and what I eat because when I eat good and workout regularly, I feel good overall.
The information that is shared on the internet, television, newspapers and other media fuels this perception even further. Over the last few years, I have developed the thought that slim girls are the healthiest and that men with big bellies are the unhealthiest on the planet. Since this is what I expect to be the truth across all my interactions with other people, I make sure that I also achieve that ideal body that I crave for. Before I lost weight, my self-esteem was too low to work out in the gym so I did workouts at home behind closed doors. This is for the simple fact that most people I see in the media working out already have the perfect body. Advertisements on the internet and other places usually emphasize on the idea of eating high fiber foods and cutting down on foods that have high levels of fat (Naugle, n.d). Eating right and reducing stress levels are highly regarded as the best ways to maintain a healthy body. You can be overweight and still be in shape.
Worldviews can have both negative and positive impacts on the health of an individual. It would be important therefore to embrace the relevant worldviews on subjects where more of positive results are to be gained as compared to negative bias.
