As stated by the articles title, it discussed what amphetamine addiction is, it's symptoms and signs, and treatment options. in the beginning of the article it informs the reader about what an addiction to amphetamines is, overuse or illegal use of psychosexual to the Central Nervous System (CANS). The ooding of the neurotransmitters Sheraton, epinephrine, and dopamine in the brain increases feeling of weli-being, euphoria, or feeling "high". When we get used to taking or overusing these drugs our minds get addicted to the "good-feeling" hormones and our bodies get phySically addicted to the substances. Shortterm effects include increased energy, decreased appetite, ' stroke, impairjudgerhent, and abnormal heart rhythms. Also, there is a correlation between amphetamine misuse and accidents such as partaking in risky behavior and contracting an STD. Some Long-term effects of amphetamine misuse and addiction are heart conditions, depression, anxiety, and psychosis. The treatment for amphetamine addiction is detoxification and rehabilitation; meaning they will need to remove the drug from the body in a healthcare facility, possibly receive medication to ease the withdraw symptoms, and rehabilitation includes keeping them sober and "clean" from amphetamines and other substances.
