Overall Rating: XXXXX I read the article, College Students and the Dangers of Binge Drinking published by Stanford Medicine Children's Health. According to the article, college students' binge-drink at higher rates than young people the same age who don't attend college. Some students go to college with a lot of past drinking experience. For others, college is a time of new freedom. They can engage in drinking and other risky behaviors without parents around. There are many risks that are associated with binge drinking including but not limited to, 1,825 college students die from alcohol-related unintentional injuries, including motor-vehicle crashes. 696,000 college students are assaulted by another student who has been drinking. 97,000 college students report an alcohol-related sexual assault or date rape. I think it would be beneficial for the authors to look into how binge drinking actually effects the students after college. Are there trends, does it last post college, and how many of those go on to graduate from college. Reply Quote Email Author
