Some situations that I may conduct an observation would be in the case of substance abuse, client dealing with some mental health issues, or even with child welfare in determining the safety of the environment a child is in as well as their well-being. As a future social worker, in one situation where I may conduct an observation would be when observing a child's behavior. For instance, I may observe a client's behavior to assess their mental health or observe a child's interaction with their parents to determine the quality of their relationship. As a social worker, I may also conduct observations to evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment plan or to monitor the progress of a client's recovery. All of these situations would allow me to assess the needs of my clients and provide them with the appropriate support. intervention and treatment plans that are based and catered to their specific needs
