Write introduction for report base on content below? After graduating from a reputed university, Phil had his choice ofjoining one ofthe big Fortune 500 companies where he recently completed his internship. However, he wants to follow his parents' legacy and come back to his hometown to work and take over his parents' company, called Purity Foods Limited. Purity Foods is a local food and drink distributor located in a college town that focuses on processed but healthy lower-calorie foods. The company supplies foods and drinks to restaurants, colleges, and local people. Phil's parents have been running the company for the last two years. Their approach towards the business is somewhat conservative and risk-averse. Phil has his first talk with his parents to tell them that he wants to join the company as a manager. While his parents like the idea of him joining the company, they aren't sure if Phil should be starting as a manager given that he doesn't have a lot of real-world experience. As they talk more about Phil's vision for the company, they see many differences between where the company currently is and how Phil wants to proceed ahead with it. One such example is the difference in their decision-making styles. Phil believes in the model of bounded rationality, admitting that the rational manager does not always have complete information and that optimal choices are not always required. Phil's parents believe in the "political View\" approach, where they see decision-making as a personalized bargaining process, driven by the agendas of participants rather than rational processes (Turpin and Marais, 2004). Phil strongly believes in the use of technology and data in decision-making. He is asked to provide more insights into his process of decisionmaking. Phil has to make it clear why he believes his approach, where decision-making is based on data and evidence rather than hearsay, is better. This is his first test, and he is asked to write a report on his opinion regarding the decision-making style. This will help Phil's parents determine if he will be selected to run the company as a manager. After reading his report, Phil's mother, Ms. Juliana Moore, the CEO of the company, tells him that he can join the company as a research advisor. She states that she wants to see Phil's progress within the company as a research advisor for now. She also tells Phil that he may be promoted to the position of manager after the company reviews his performance in about a year. If he accepts the research advisor position, he could use his data analysis skills to advise the company for day-to-day decision-making. At first, Phil doesn't know if this is something he wants to do. After he thinks through the offer given by his parents for a few more days, he decides that the situation may not be as bad as he first thought it was. He can learn the culture of the company and also apply his skills in a lower pressure role {than of a manager). While not everyone is on board, the majority of the existing staff believe in Phil's plan for surveying the town, and they are willing to try his approach. This is Phil's first win! Phil now focuses on utilizing the inventory management system that the company has, with the primary objective of minimizing \"leakage\" of different products {under different product lines) through wastage and thefts. The company currently has a very large warehouse where the food is stored until it is pulled from the shelves to be delivered to the customers. The company has 10 types of product lines, with each product line having five products, and with each product having ten combinations of color and size. The company has 10 storage racks numbered 110. Each rack is responsible for the inventory of each type of product line (thus, 10 product lines in 10 different storage racks). Further, each rack has five shelves labeled A, B, C, D, and E that store each product type within the associated product line. Each shelf is divided into 10 sections, numbered 110, that store the product with a specific combination of color and size. For example, Purity Foods has a product line called Soft Drinks that has a product called Diet Pineapple Soda that is of 12-ounce size. This is stored in 5-D-1 {rack 5, shelf D, section 1)
