For this task you are required to develop a plan of action for a team or group of individuals. The team or group of individuals may be your current work team at your community services workplace, orif you do not currently work in a community service, please select the community service you would like to work for.
- First you are required to develop a plan for a team or group of individuals, including:
- Effective procedures to maximise staff work performance
- Strategies for collaboration and cooperative work practices
- Strategies for work performance and outcomes
- Identification of barriers and constraints and development of strategies to address them
1a. Planned Goal - Maximize staff work performance & Communication
Procedures to maximise staff work performance and communication we will look at incorporating
- Clearly define roles and responsibilities for each team member, ensuring that they are equipped with the training and skills needed to fulfil their role
- Establish clear communication and protocols for sharing information and updates within the team we will look at having a communication diary, and use our storypark app to be able to communicate.
- Encourage and seek regular feedback and provide opportunities for professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Implement regular performance reviews to assess individual and team performance.
1b. Strategies for collaboration and cooperative work practices:
- Foster a culture of teamwork and open communication where ideas, perspectives, and feedback are welcomed.
- Encourage collaboration by creating opportunities for brainstorming sessions, group discussions, and sharing of best practices.
- Establish regular team meetings to encourage cooperation, address challenges, and celebrate achievements.
- Implement tools and technologies, such as project management software or virtual collaboration platforms, to facilitate communication and coordination among team members.
1c. Strategies for work performance and outcomes:
- Set clear and realistic goals for the team
- Establish a tracking system/critically reflect on the progress to monitor progress towards goals and provide regular feedback on performance.
- Recognize and reward achievements to motivate and maintain high levels of performance.
- Encourage innovation and creativity by allowing team members to contribute ideas and suggestions.
1d. Identification of barriers and constraints and development of strategies to address them:
- Conduct regular assessments to identify potential barriers or constraints to work performance.
- Engage in open conversation and feedback with team members to understand their concerns and challenges.
- Develop strategies to address identified barriers, such as providing additional resources, training, or reassigning tasks.
Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment to encourage team members to seek help and support when needed.
2. Next, document plan to facilitate two group meetings or discussions to delegate work team activities and to develop and evaluate work goals.
Establish the purpose of meeting :
- Meeting 1 agenda - Develop the work goals to increase work performance
- Meeting 2 agenda- Delegate the team roles and responsibilities.
Steps taken:
- Invite the team: - we will focus on selecting the right staff members for the meetings so that we can communicate and create goals together In order to develop and evaluate the work goals and objectives
- Share the meeting agenda : - staff within the meeting receive a meeting agenda By making the staff clear about the meeting agenda we can provide the guidance to the staff about their roles effectively.
- Empower everyone to contribute : - we will focus on empowering staff members so that they can contribute their best in order to achieve the objectives effectively.
3. Then, identify and describe at least one issue that may cause disruption to work team activities and plan to facilitate a meeting or discussion with those involved. Develop and document at least one strategy to resolve this issue.
- One of the major issue that emerge during the day is clear communication issues among the team members
4. Finally, develop a plan to review the performance of at least one individual, and create a coaching plan for the individual.
You will require the plans and information you have created for your Observation Task.
Observation activity - Role Play For this task you are required to role play the meetings/discussions and coaching you have planned for in Written Assessment Task 1. That is, you are to:
1. Facilitate at least two group meetings or discussions to delegate work team activities and develop and evaluate work goals. This should include:
a. Promoting effective work practices b. Developing and implementing strategies to maximise work performance c. Identifying planning problems and/or barriers and strategising to remedy them
2. Facilitate a meeting or discussion with those involved in the disruption to work team activities identified in your plan, and discuss the strategies planned to resolve the issue.
3. Review the performance of at least one individual, and developed an improvement plan You must ensure you address each of the points below for your assessment:

Strategies for collaboration and cooperative work practices c. Strategies for work performance and outcomes d. Identification of barriers and constraints and development of strategies to address them

6. Identified at least 1 issue causing disruption to work team activities and: a. Facilitated at least 1 meeting or discussion with those involved b. Developed and implemented strategies to resolve issue
7. Coached at least 1 individual based on their performance evaluation and provide additional support as required
8. Develop and implement staffing processes including: a. Maintaining confidentiality b. Identifying staffing resource needs c. Participating in the recruitment of staff d. Implementing inductions for new staff members e. Promote quality worker and client outcomes f. Encouraging staff training g. Collaborating with other service s to provide additional support for clients
9. Maintain your professional approach to work activities including: a. Reflecting on your own practice b. Considering the values, mission guidelines and policies and procedures of the organisation c. Ensure personal contact does not affect leadership of a team d. Communicating effectively
10. Evaluating plans including: a. Regular meetings with those involved to discuss and evaluate the effectiveness of plans and practices in meeting the goals and needs of the organisation b. Identifying the need for improvements c. Ensuring continuous improvement of plans d. Documentation and reporting of work outcomes
