W-the-wife and H-the-husband got married in 2016 but their relationship broke down and W initiated divorce proceedings in 2022. W has a child, D-the-daughter, from a previous marriage who lived with H and W. D's biological father died in 2014. H never officially adopted D but in 2018 she took H's surname. D also began calling H 'Dad' and the two shared a successful father-daughter type relationship. In 2021, W and H began visiting various high schools in South Africa in order to decide where D should attend high school. They both were impressed by Elite Academy in KZN and D began Grade 8 there in 2022. Elite Academy is a very prestigious school and the school fees are very high. Initially W was worried about this, but H said "I have more than enough money to ensure that our darling D gets the best education possible!" W will not be in a financial position to pay the full amount of fees at Elite Academy on her own. W now visits you, a lawyer, and wants to know whether or not H must pay the fees at Elite Academy for the duration of D's schooling. W tells you "I believe H must pay even though he never formally adopted D".
