Bob states that he has had problems with his nerves since he lost both of his parents in a car accident. He and his sister were both in the car. They both survived. He was 17 and his sister was 15. Bob states that he is usually able to work through his problems of nerves by drinking alcohol. He states that when he was in his twenties, he saw a "shrink" for a couple of years for depression and anxiety but reports that the medications the doctor gave him made him feel the same way as alcohol, so he just started drinking more. Bob states that he drinks about 12 beers a day and about half of a fifth of whiskey. He said that he drinks beer during the day and whiskey at night. About one month ago, Bob was in a car accident. He registered a .20 when the police arrived. Bob remembers being so shaken up that they had to take him to the hospital to calm him down even though he was not physically hurt during the accident. Bob says that he "went crazy" and had to go to the "nuthouse" for a few days. One of the doctors at the "nuthouse" suggested he go for treatment to address his drinking problem and his anxiety (what Bob calls "my nerves"). Bob states that he and his sister do not really talk and that he has no other family in the area. He has one friend, a "drinking buddy" with whom he watches some sports on T.V. about once or twice a week. He feels like his friend uses him for the beers and even noticed that he's had some money missing the next day after his friend left. Bob wishes that his friend would just ask for money if he needed it instead of taking it. Bob decided he is not going to pass out anymore when his friend is over to avoid this from happening. Bob does not like the medications that they gave him at the hospital. He has stopped taking them and continues to drink. Bob states that he is drinking less now and won't be driving so he does not get into another car accident. He asked a friend to bring him groceries and other necessities. He is on disability for the SSA for being a permanently injured veteran. He served in Desert Storm for two years and is proud of his service. Bob reports that before he was on disability, he worked as a manager at a car dealership. Bob lives on his own and takes care of himself. ext Predictions; On Editor Suggestions: Showing Q Search L DEL
