EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND PLANNING

Narrative, Part 1

Recently, there have often been emergency incidents in public places involving many victims. This emergency incident worsened due to lack of preparation and experience by the victim.

Problem statement:

1. Give 5 different emergency incident in 2023 at Malaysia which were involved more than 10 victims or values more than RM1 million.
2. Briefly explain the preparation of public facing major emergency at public area. Are they prepared or otherwise?
3. List minimum three (3) actions can be implemented to educate the public in facing major emergency situation.

Narrative, Part 2

The company's management plans to establish an Emergency Response Team (ERT) because they feel they are able to provide immediate action during an emergency within the company while waiting for help from outside agencies to arrive.

Problem Statements:

1. Give a breakdown of ERT's areas of expertise that will be established in the sector based on the company's nature of business.
2. Discuss the appropriate conditions for the selection of ERT members.
3. Discuss the types of training modules that ERT members need to attend to prepare for emergencies.
4. Discuss recommendations that can be implemented to make ERT effective when performing emergency actions.

Narrative, Part 3

Your company has had several emergency incidents that have caused threats to employee safety as well as production disruptions.

Problem statement:

a) List at least five potential emergency incidents in your company by referring to various related factors such as raw materials, products, machines, location and so on.

b) Prepare a flow of communication procedures that will be implemented in the event of a disaster in the company involving various related parties.
