XYZ could protect themselves by notifying the Department of State and the Department of Commerce of ABC's actions, to reduce their liability. Yes, American business practices are going to be impacted by conflicts between governments because each sovereign nation has its own laws. Some laws may have an extraterritorial reach. (Module 12 lecture). American businesses have to comply with American regulations or suffer the consequences, even though the laws are different for other governments. Western bias can affect decisions when operating global because other parts of the world have different laws. Western countries conduct themselves in similar laws that they have and so that is what they believe should be international law. (Module 12 lecture).
