Yara a four and half (4 ½ ) year old girl is about to commence primary school (1st yr. kindergarten) in the new year. Her older brother Jamal has been going to the same school for the last 2 years. Yara is excited about starting 'big' school next year but separation anxiety is also very anxious about away from her family. Yara family home includes her mother Ismat, who is currently pregnant with her 3rd child and her father Abdul; seven (7) year-old brother Jamal and Yara's grandparents also live with them. Although all the family speak some English, the primary language at home is Farsi. Yara's father and brother are both fluent in English.
