She bought one from a local shop and the receipt of the sale contained the following clauses: Clause 5: The Seller agrees to deliver and install the oven by 10 April. The oven was delivered on 14 April. On the day of the moving-in party when several guests were in the kitchen-diner enjoying the meal, the oven burst into flames injuring Yip and one of the guests, Linda, who was sitting close to the oven, and damaging the kitchen. It was later discovered that the fire was caused by the seller's engineer leaving a loose connection when installing the oven.
