He has been caught shoplifting a few times. Before you leave on your great adventure, you want to make sure he understands that he cannot get into any kind of trouble in foreign countries. We have five different possible destinations.
Possible vacation spots includes:
- Egypt
- Ireland
- Vietnam
- Switzerland
- Cherokee Nation reservation in Oklahoma.
Use three of the five destinations that you will visit with some detail. (You get to choose which three).
- Identify the family of law followed by this nation/state.
- Identify what the crime would be. Explain the general criminal process that would occur in this country dealing with this crime. Specifically, what type of legal proceedings could you expect in this country (and/or family of law)? What type of punishment might be applied if Doug were convicted of the charge?
- Evaluate each country's legal system and the ethics associated with their conflict resolution processes. Are the processes ethical? Are they supported by the values of the community? Do these processes lead to fair outcomes? Why or why not? Explain
