Although the government has loosened restrictions as to how you can run the restaurant, Covid 19 has taken a huge financial toll on your restaurant business. As a result of the harsh economic times, you and the co-owners have decided that you are no longer able to keep some of your employees.

1- Discuss the form of business that you and your friends decided to run. Explain why you chose the form of business, addressing both the advantages and disadvantages of the form of business. Also address the name you chose for your business and any concerns you had when choosing your restaurant's business name.

2- You have decided to terminate Shane, the restaurant manager, who has been working at the restaurant for 5 years, due to the fact that business has substantially decreased. What are your legal obligations to Shane?

3- You have also decided to terminate your chef Lorne, who has been working for at the restaurant for 4 years because you caught him selling some of the restaurant's secret recipes to the restaurant down the street for cash.

4- Your dishwasher Steve, who has been working for you for 3 years, has quit because you reduced the number of weekly shifts he normally receives, from 6 days per week to 2 days per week

5- You decided to terminate your waitress Stacy because she would not come to work 2 times in the last month because of religious holidays.

6- And finally, you have terminated one of your waiters, Jack, who has been at the restaurant for two years, because he has refused to vaccinate himself from the effects of covid 19, although the restaurant has a policy of allowing only double vaccinated employees to work at the restaurant.

Discuss what your obligations are as the owners of the restaurant, and the rights of the employees with respect to situations 2 to 6. Please answer the questions using the applicable common law, statutes, and remedies discussed in class.
