You are a new officer who is currently on probation. You have just been involved in a pursuit of a vehicle that was eventually pulled over by another officer. When you approach the vehicle, you are told to go back to your patrol car and leave the scene. Later you find out the suspect vehicle in the pursuit was an off-duty officer and that nothing was done to that officer. What should you do?    The suspect vehicle is in his personal vehicle.  Should the officer allow me to pursue the vehicle knowing I was in pursuit of it or is this a blue wall of silence case that involves the other officer to use their discretion?  How should this be handled.  Should I speak to the officer about the situation later or should I speak to my commanding officer?
