You are correct in focusing on the critical path of your project, as we all know that this is the longest path on a project schedule of a series of interdependent activities or tasks. However, we must keep in mind that the critical path is constantly updated. I mean it is never fixed. The critical path we see today may not be the same critical path we see tomorrow, especially if something happens in between, such as critical path dependencies changed, overtime being scheduled, or additional manpower being assigned to work on a critical path.
