You are going to be taking a virtual holiday and you are not going to be buying or booking anything for this assignment. Background: Your parents are very pleased with your studies, and have given you enough money to pay for 80% of a new car as a gift. You will have to borrow money from a financial institution to pay for the rest of the money owing on the car (20% of the cost). You are taking out the loan over 7 years at an interest rate of 5.75%, which you will be making repayments for each fortnight. One of these repayments is due to be paid whilst you are taking your road trip, and you will need to use some of your holiday money to pay for it You are very happy with your new car, and you have therefore decided to take a road trip holiday. Your parents will give you $2000.00 to spend on the holiday to cover all of your expenses. You can drive to any destination on mainland Australia and stay in any type of accommodation, as long as you do not spend a total of more than $2000.00. The expenses you need to take into account include food (you have decided you need $20.00/day for this), fuel, accommodation and car loan repayment. You will start your journey at the end of your last class at Griffith College, so your starting location for the holiday will be your college campus. For this assignment, assume that the cost of fuel is constant at 134.9 ?/Litre. If you travel a long way to your destination, you may need to have a stopover along the way. If this is the case, you will need to book accommodation in the city or town you will be stopping at. Your task is to plan this holiday and to work out your itinerary and costs. You will be marked out of 100, however this will be scaled down to 10 marks on the portal. Your lecturer has a list of the different cars you can pretend to buy, and you will need to choose a car from this list. You can choose any destination and accommodation type, however you will need to check these with your lecturer. The information provided for the cars is from: https://www.carshowroom.com.au/compare-cars/ Calculation for the loan repayment is from https://www.infochoice.com.au/calculators/loan-repayment-calculator.
