You are interested to establish whether the grouping of homework (practice) questions affect accounting students' learning. Prior research claims learning outcomes are improved by grouping similar accounting problems (A,A,A,B,B,C,C) rather than presenting such problems in an interleaved order (A,B,C,B,A,C,A). Your study will consider whether grouping questions and making initial problem solving easier has a negative effect on longer-term learning. You have developed the following two hypotheses:
Ha: Immediately after problem-solving practice, test scores will be greater when students have practiced with grouped rather than interleaved practice problems.
Hb: One week after problem-solving practice, test scores will be greater when students have practiced with interleaved rather than grouped practice problems.
Design an experiment that follows a 2 x 2 full factorial, between subjects design to investigate the above hypotheses. Your design should include a figure or diagram to illustrate the experimental groups.
