You are promoting media literacy (not any personal or political viewpoint)--you want to discuss the constant news flow that students are bombarded with every day (via social media, word-of-mouth, traditional media such as television and newspapers, etc.). A) What is the best way for PCC students to process all of this and keep themselves informed? Can you suggest a strategy? For example, watch the local news, along with the national and international broadcasts? Read newspapers and magazines? Utilize social media apps? Some sort of combination? Check things out as soon as they wake-up...before they go to bed? B) In addition to a strategy, you can suggest specific websites, broadcast channels, cable outlets, publications, apps, etc., that will keep a student "in the loop." Some students say they are very busy, and don't have the time to spend newsgathering from a whole bunch of sources. C) What can a student do if following the news becomes overwhelming (causing stress, depression, etc.)? Or, what if conflicting news reports confuses them (and all of the information makes their heads spin)?
