You are the audit senior on the Widgets audit for the year ended 12/31/17. Part of the job of a senior is to review the work of staff accountants. You have assigned GKW to the audit of notes payable. The audit program you've given her contains the following audit procedures Obtain a rollforward of debt, foot and cross foot the schedule, and agree balances to the lead sheet. (The lead sheet for the Widgets audit is workpaper M.) Confirm balances, current period payments, and terms with the lender(s) For new loans or borrowings, examine copies of debt instruments. Recalculate current portion of long-term debt. Test calculation of interest payable. Review terms of any related party debt for reasonableness. Review interest expense for reasonableness. (X-1 refers to an Expense supporting audit schedule.) She has completed her work on workpaper M-2. Your job is to review her work. You can assume if she says something agrees, it does. Think about the following as you do your review: 1. 2. 3. Did she do everything she was supposed to do? Did she clearly indicate what she did on the workpaper? (All tickmarks had explanations?) Is there anything she either didn't notice or failed to highlight on the workpaper? You need to find 5 errors
