You bring up a good point that finding statistics and probability in life and things like sports is a good way to connect math to the real world.Being a math afficionado, going over statistics is one of my favorite parts of watching sports!We recently had a statistician for MLS come give a talk to my students.He shared real life statistics in the sports and what they do to analyze them.It was pretty fascinating to see what can be done with sports and how the data is compiled.How would you use that in a classroom?Would you have a high interest level?What would you do if not all kids were sports fans?
