You decide to go to a movie on a Saturday night.

You drive to downtown Ottawa and choose to park your car in Jiffy Park secured parking, a well-known parking garage in the city centre.

As you drive into the Jiffy Park lot, you notice that there is no security guard in the "security office" and the metal gate to the Jiffy Park lot has a large hole in it.

You take your parking validation ticket from the automatic dispenser and drive into the lot.

After parking your car, you head to the movie theatre.

When the movie is done, you head back to your car. All of the windows are broken, your cell phone is missing, as is your expensive work bag and a new Smart TV from the trunk.

You call Jiffy Park the next day, and ask for compensation. The Jiffy Park attendant says that when you paid your parking fee, and got your parking validation ticket, you agreed to the standard contract that Jiffy Park was not responsible for "any damages, theft, or loss" that occurred on their property.

You disagree and decide to sue Jiffy Park. Do you think you will be successful?

Explain your answer.
