You have been tasked to develop a communication plan for a complex enterprise-wide reorganization. Currently there are eight facilities in the Mountain View Health System (MVHS). Each facility has an onsite HIM director, manager, and supervisor(s) who manage between approximately 40-80 employees at each facility. Employees cover the HIM functions around the clock. Onsite functions include an electronic document management system (EDMS) and release of information, clinical record analysis and quality control, medical coding, data analytics and research, EHR support, information security and privacy, revenue integrity, and compliance. The medical coding and data analytics staff are remote. A senior HIM vice president oversees the HIM directors and functions at the eight facilities. MVHS is planning to purchase another small health system that includes four hospitals. The senior HIM vice president plans to develop a lean management model that will include one HIM director managing three hospitals. The remaining directors will move into management roles within the facilities where they currently work. You are the senior HIM vice president and you must develop a communication plan to announce this reorganization to the existing HIM management staff, the new HIM management staff, and the onsite and remote employees of both existing and new HIM departments
