You have collected the data for 104 employees in which employees report their organizational commitment to their employer and their degree of satisfaction with their employer's efforts to supportsocially responsible endeavors. You ask several questions about organization commitment such as "I feel strongly committed to my employer", "I would recommend my employer to friends and relatives", "To try to achieve my employer's budgetary objectives", etc. In all there are 7 questions in which 1 represents strongly disagree and 7 represents strongly agree, and a higher numbered answer would be interpreted as stronger organizational commitment. You sum the answers to each question for each employee to get an organization commitment "score" for each employee. The average score for all employees is 36 with the lowest possible score being a 7 and the highest possible score being 49.
The lowest score is 17 and the highest is 47. Satisfaction is a single question "My employer is strongly committed to corporate social responsibility".The range of answers is 1 to 7 with 1being "strongly disagree" and 7 being "strongly agree". You believe that the more employees are satisfied with their employer's efforts to support socially responsible endeavors, the more committed they will be to their employer.
Note - this is partial data from an actual study on organizational commitment. http://ijbssnet.com/journals/Vol_3_No_1_January_2012/1.pdf
1.Use the data on the worksheet labeled Data to perform a regression consistent with your expectations.
Put the regression output onthe sheet labeled RegressionOutput Here
Also, copy the regression output to a Word file andanswer the questions below in that file. 2.Discuss the statistical characteristics of the regression results.Explain what each number in the regression output refers to or means and/or how each is interpreted. You will probably need to refer to outside material for an explanation of the ANOVA results.
3.Discuss managerial implications of the regression results.
4.Discuss any shortcomings you see with this process.
