Scenario

It has taken 11 years, two new companies, three relocations, and four years with my current employer, but I am now head of marketing research. My meeting with the chief marketing officer makes me wonder whether I am being rewarded or punished.

The companys financials are in shambles, which explains the job opening. We are a large privately-owned company, and I was never privy to it. Our best-selling product has been reeling from foreign competition that was minuscule our five years ago.

Our newest product ideas have promise. I need to review the data and determine its potential. Bottom line: We need to do something.
