Your assessor will need to observe you acting in the role of project manager and actually demonstrating these skills, on more than one occasion.
Negotiate, with your assessor, a time and placeeither in an actual or simulated workplaceto demonstrate these skills.
You should design and develop a series of project plans, which include the appropriate quality components. Select and describe the quality method/s that will be employed and explain why you consider these to be the most appropriate. You must, as the project manager, act to ensure that the project objectives and quality objectives are met.
Describe and define each project and give clear and succinct reasons for initiating each; that is, who will it benefit? How will it benefit the various stakeholders? Why should the organisation support the project?
Answer the following:
- How would you determine quality needs and performance expectations?
- What project management tools would you use to identify performance metrics and to ensure compliance with the required quality standards?
- Why would these tools, methods or techniques be most useful?
- Describe the methods you would use to clarify roles, responsibilities and lines of authority.
- Describe the methods that would be used to ensure buy in of all team members to the quality requirements.
- How would you monitor quality and performance?
- Explain the data collection, recordkeeping and reporting processes that would be used to oversee and ensure quality requirements are met.
It would be best if you could apply these processes to projects that could actually be used in an organisation for which you work; that is, to a real situation and real project application. If you work for an organisation which has a project development proforma you should use it to develop and document the project intentions and processes. Quality procedurestools, methods and techniquesshould comply with those accepted by the organisation.
Simulation
If the practical project cannot be applied to a real life situation it must be developed to fit with a simulated or imagined scenario.
Existing plan
If you have already developed project plans for other BSBPMG units you might be able to base the development of quality procedures and answers to the final assessment questions on these projects. Check with your assessor to determine what is required
