Question 2 On March 1, 2020 Amanda wrote to Belinda offering to sell her a 'Blue Butterfly' stamp, for $50,000. She promised to keep the offer open until the end of the month. Belinda replied to Amanda by mail on March 20, 2019 saying: 'I accept your offer provided that the stamp is authenticated by a recognized an 'independent expert'. On March 23, 2020 Amanda wrote to Charlene offering to sell her, her 'Blue Butterfly' stamp for $70,000. On the same day (and ignorant of Amanda's offer) Charlene wrote to Amanda offering her $70,000 for the 'Blue Butterfly' stamp. On March 29, 2020 Davina telephoned Amanda and left a message on Amanda's answering machine, offering $100,000 for the 'Blue Butterfly' stamp provided that Amanda accepted before the end of the month. Amanda heard the message on March 30, 2020. She telephoned Davina's office at once. There was no reply so he left a message on the answering machine accepting Davina's offer. Davina did not hear the message until after he returned from a foreign visit on April 4, 2020
