You run a business selling Personal Computers. You ran a sales promotion that lasted from week 4 to week 11 of this year. Your Finance Department provided you 16 weeks of data covering the 3 weeks prior to the promotion, the 8 weeks of the promotion, and the 5 weeks following the promotion.

The sales promotion had two important elements; 1) A price discount that resulted in the Gross Margin declining from 33% to 28%, and, (2) the addition of $25K/Week of Sales labor overtime to aggressively work on the promotion campaign. This increased the SGA expense (Sales & General/Administrative) during the 8-week promotion.

You owe your boss a one-page report on a PowerPoint slide to review the promotions success.

Create three graphs using financial data from tthe spreadsheet posted on Blackboard. Select the Graph formats that most effectively convey your analysis. These include a Sales Graph, an Earnings Graph and Earning Impact Graph (refer to the posted template for more info on the Earnings Impact Graph).

Provide Sales Promotion commentary in the area noted on the slide. Was the promotion a success? What observation do you have with any residual benefit from the promotion? What recommendation(s) do you have regarding future promotions,Your boss has a particular interest in the SGA expense area; did the promotions increase in sales increase or reduce the SGA % rate? Include a bullet comment.
