Describe how someone enacting one of these strategies would respond to the scenario. Describe whether the strategy you selected to apply is the best response and why it is or is not (Note: you might choose to explain why the strategy you selected to discuss is inappropriate). Be sure to properly cite where you got your strategy.

Note: Once someone in the class selects a resolution strategy for one scenario, you may not choose to apply that strategy to that same case; however, you can still apply that strategy to a different scenario if it has not yet been done. The goal is to discuss many strategy-scenario combinations.

In your responses to at least two classmates' posts, suggest a hypothetical challenge to your classmates' preferred response to one of the scenarios. Consider framing your response using the following questions, or create a challenge of your own:

Would all affected/interested parties involved agree, or how might some individuals oppose the decisionmaker?

What obstacles might arise when implementing the suggested resolution?

Scenerio 1:

You have created a startup business with your friends. You all graduated from graduate school together and developed a waste cooperative - a business offering recycling and composting services for the community to help them avoid sending material to the landfill. You have had three dozen members signup recently, which is getting you closer to breakeven financial status. Because the cooperative is designed to incentivize customers to sort their own waste, there is little work that needs to be done by your team besides transferring it to the buyer. Repurposed materials get purchased from you to make new products. For that reason, your team of four is all the employees you need. There is you, Monique, Abbott, and Shellie. Monique and Abbott dated off-and-on throughout graduate school, but broke-up one month after the cooperative opened. You were worried that they would both move back to their home states, but so far, they have stayed local. However, the tensions between them are distracting. They have vocal fights and sometimes throw objects at the walls in anger. The situation is worse now that Shellie has started dating Abbott. They try to keep the relationship to themselves, but everyone knows about it. Monique cannot stand working with either of them, but it is hard to keep them apart since the facility handles all of the materials on only a half-acre lot. Two new opportunities have arisen to give public lectures to local middle schools next week. Your team has a presentation that could give a good overview of the cooperative, based on a case competition contest pitch from which the idea of the business model was conceived. However, the lectures are requested to happen on the same day, at the same time. It would be best if two people could handle each lecture. Some of the props used for demonstrations in the lecture are at Monique's house, and others are at Shellie's. They both live on opposite sides of town. Monique lives next to Abbott, and Shellie lives next to you. What do you do?
