Your company is experiencing reorganization. You are the manager of your accounting department. You have 12 employees in your department. You must lay-off 3 employees. You have decided on 2 employees but the 3rd employee is problematic. The choices are between employee J and employee P. J has been with the company for 12 years. J is a mediocre employee, has fair attendance, has a poor attitude, and only does what is required (barely). P has been with the company for about a year. P is hard-working, has exemplary attendance, has a good attitude and does more than is expected (often picking up the slack from J). J is unlikely to find another position as quickly as P. Whom will you select and why? What model are you using to make that determination? Why are you using that model? Compare the model you have selected with at least two other models.
