You will createthreeintention statements related to how you, as a Developmental Services Professional (DSP) will personally contribute to the prevention of abuse at the level of the victim and the level of the abuser.

Your intention statements will represent a commitment to carrying out an action or actions in thefuture that will reduce the risk of individuals you support from experiencing abuse. Your intention statements are personal and should reflect your own professional values and career goals.

For each of yourthreeintention statements, you will:

1. Describe the action(s) you will take to contribute to the prevention of abuse at thelevel of the victimorthe level of the abuser. Include how you will monitor and assess whether you are following through with your intention.
2. Describe a potential barrier that might interfere with your ability to follow through with the intention and provide a strategy of what you could do to overcome this barrier.
