You will read a biography or autobiography about a leader whom you admire. The leader may be a historical figure or a contemporary personality, i.e. a President or past/current political leader, leader of an organization, or team, or is famous someway for their leadership. You should pick your choice of book(s) no later than week three of class. If you are uncertain about your leader, feel free to connect with the Professor.

The paper IS NOT a chronological narrative on the life of the leader. Rather, it is a character analysis that will include:

1. A personal statement regarding the qualities of leadership that attracted your attention.
2. An analysis and assessment of the leadership skills, traits, and competencies that characterize the leader from our class discussions and texts (Ie, assess their leadership by using some of the assessments we did in class from the Northouse text.)
3. An examination of the leader's weaknesses and methods used to handle these limitations.
4. Examples of practices, routines, habits, or disciplines engaged in by the leader that allowed her/him to develop exemplary qualities.
5. Discuss the lessons of leadership that you can apply to your own leadership development and how your leader would respond to the social justice issues that the nation is facing today.
