1. You work for a local brewery and your company makes three very popular kinds of beer.  Part of the popularity of the beer, you suspect, is the fact that it is 7% alcohol by volume.  Sales have been very good over the last several years but recently they have been declining due to competition from several other local breweries.

 

As one of the strategies to regain sales, it has been suggested that a small amount of water be added to the beer.  This will reduce production costs and increase profitability. The taste of the beer will not change.  If this is done, there is no intention of changing the label on the bottle to reflect an alcohol content of less than 7%, even though it will actually be lower than that.  The law only requires that the alcohol content be at or below the number on the bottle.
