You work with OTEN Events who is organising the annual Mud Muster at Nowra on the South Coast, NSW early next year. It is expected that there will be in excess of 5000 participants of varying age groups and cultural groups and a range of special needs.

Transport to the event is by car, train or bus with the majority expected to be arriving by car. Event registrations will commence a minimum of 3 months prior to the event with the majority of participants expected to pre-register.

6. Many event organisations aim to reduce the environmental impact of events wherever possible. International Organisation for Standardization 20121 Event Sustainability Management Systems was created to provide the framework to help identify potentially negative social, economic and environmental impact of events and then remove or reduce negative impacts through improvements in the planning and processes.

Research ISO20121 and briefly explain how using these principles might benefit an event such as the one outlined in the scenario.

Using the internet, industry publications, reputable event management organisations and discussions with experienced industry personnel briefly outline two (2) current and emerging types of technology that could be used for this event and then describe how this technology could enhance the quality of work performance for this particular event.
